A Local Success Story - Didier's Patisserie

Didier's PatisserieNick Raynsford, MP for Greenwich & Woolwich, met Didier & Laure Merveilleux (pictured), the founders of Didier’s Patisserie, and their staff on Friday 2nd October.

Didier’s was established in 1995 in South East London and has operated from a site on Salutation Road in East Greenwich since 2005. Didier’s has grown rapidly and now employs 60 people and supplies French patisserie and English desserts to a range of customers: from British Airways, Eurostar and Harrod’s Food Hall to the Queen’s Summer Garden parties at Buckingham Palace. Nick was delighted to meet with Mr & Mrs Merveilleux and their staff and to see how successful their business has been in Greenwich.

The success of the Patisserie has been acknowledged by the French Embassy and Mr & Mrs Merveilleux are to be recognised at a ceremony by the French ambassador at his official residence on the 7th October which Nick will be attending.

Nick Raynsford said: “It is wonderful to see another local success story in Didier’s Patisserie. Mr & Mrs Merveilleux have based their business in Greenwich and told me how much they benefited from the good local transport links from the Jubilee Line and DLR. I’m delighted to see that people from far away are choosing Greenwich as the right place to base and build their businesses and I hope to see companies like Didier’s continue to flourish across the borough in the years to come”.
