Call to Constituents to Get Involved in Tenant Consultation

Nick Raynsford, MP for Greenwich and Woolwich, is encouraging social housing tenants in to take part in the second phases of the Tenant Service Authority’s (TSA) National Conversation – a nationwide consultation on the future direction of social housing.

The TSA, which is the new independent regulator for social housing, wants to hear from as many tenants as possible. It will listen to people’s views and use them to decide on new standards which landlords will be expected to follow.

Nick says: ‘I am urging everyone who lives in social housing to get involved in this groundbreaking consultation. Tenants should be involved in decisions about their homes, including choice about the design of their homes and repairs and maintenance services. This is an excellent opportunity that will give tenants the voice that well improve the lives of thousands of residents in Greenwich and Woolwich’.

The consultation runs until 8 September 2009. The final phase will be a statutory consultation which will be launched in the autumn. Further information can be found at www.nationalconversation.co.uk or by calling 0845 230 7000.
