Henry Moore's 'Knife Edge' Sculpture to Return to Greenwich

Nick Raynsford MP has today stated that he is ‘delighted’ by the news that the Henry Moore Foundation has finally agreed the return of the ‘Knife Edge’ sculpture to Greenwich Park in time for the 2012 Olympics.

Henry Moore’s ‘Knife Edge’ was for a long time a much-loved feature in Greenwich Park until its removal in 2007. The recent announcement follows years of lobbying from Greenwich & Woolwich’s MP, Nick Raynsford, who has worked closely with the Friends of Greenwich Park and the Royal Parks Agency to secure its return.

Nick said: “I have written on numerous occasions to the Henry Moore Foundation, stressing the significance of ‘Knife Edge’ to Greenwich Park. The Friends of Greenwich Park have also worked tirelessly to secure the sculpture’s return. I am delighted that our lobbying has paid off and that ‘Knife Edge’ will be returned in time for the 2012 Olympics, so that this fine piece of work by one of Britain’s greatest sculptors can be admired once again by local Greenwich residents, and also around the world”.
