Nick Commits to Safeguard Legacy of Holocaust Survivors | |
With 27 January marking the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp, Nick signed the book to honour those who perished in the Holocaust and to support a ‘Legacy of Hope’ – learning from Survivors’ experiences to help create a future free from hatred and prejudice. In a joint statement with neighbouring MPs John Austin and Clive Efford, who also signed the book, Nick said: ‘Holocaust survivors are extraordinary people. We have a duty to them to pass on the lessons of the Holocaust to future generations. Holocaust Memorial Day gives us an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of Holocaust Survivors, to commemorate the millions who dies under Hitler’s régime, and to commit to a future free from racism and descrimination’. The Book of Commitment was organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust. To find out more about its work, visit www.het.org.uk/.
